PHASE 2 -

Ongoing Weight Loss (OWL)

  1. Protein and fat are the mainstays of your Atkins nutritional regimen.
  2. Increase your daily carb intake by no more than 5 grams each week.
  3. Add one new food group at a time.
  4. Eat a food group no more than three times per week to start.  Then you may eat it daily.
  5. If new foods provoke weight gain, then eliminate them from your diet.
  6. Continue to do OWL until you have from 5 to 10 pounds left to lose.
  7. As you move into

    Atkins Weight Loss

    or OWL, your rate of weight loss will gradually taper off. This is normal and intentional since your are increasing your carb intake.
  8. The key to OWL is to correctly determine your Critical Carbohydrate Level for Losing (CCLL).
  9. By incrementally increasing your carbohydrate intake you can tailor your Atkins diet plan to fit your tastes, desires, and lifestyle.
  10. Everybody's CCLL can vary substantially.
